Looks is just a matter of OPINION.

I already got everything I want on my main, and I'm very happy with the items and bought several books so I could distribute the items amongst my henchmen and secondary characters.

Then you should be happy. Anything better, and you'd have the PvP people screaming, right?

I'm not sure where you get this idea.

I know you're not bashing me personally. I also have all 3 campaigns and have been playing since May 2005, have everything I need and more. For some reason I'm still happy with the endgame NF items.
But seriously, "suffer?" LOL.

Also make it so you could get a custom green of your choice so it has the skin w/stats that you want.

I would definitely sign onto that ^^ idea.

Designing green weapons is more complicated than you give it credit for. The OP complains than the endgame green focus offered isn't as good as his Kindlerock - well, guess what, a significant majority of the playerbase would disagree with you. The endgame green items, for the most part, offer the stats on weapons that are some of the most popular. They could offer less popular mods on the weapons there, but guess what? That would lead to even more complaints than they're getting now. Because Guild Wars offers an assortment of reasonably balanced equipment choices for you to choose between, instead of having a very clear gear progression, even the endgame items, with 'perfect' stats, aren't going to be perfect to some percentage of players.
I think there's a constant conflict of interest when making green items, between designing weapons that are more of the same, and designing weapons that are unique. They have made 'unique' greens before, without the health mods, and the price check forum will tell you what people think of those. If you're someone that actually wants those weird mods, great, there's a bargain waiting for you - but for the people who find those weapons, seeing a list of unpopular mods cheapens the reward significantly.
Peace,
-CxE

I was comparing the end game green staff with the ragos fire wand/kindlerock combo. Actually, since the release of Sorrows Furnace I would say they have been very popular items. Exactly how would a significant majority of the playerbase disagree with me? The newbies might need the +30hp mod to stay alive, but faster cast/faster recharge is the way to go imo.

It's a free green item for us to have. Why do we have to complain about it?

I don't know really, I guess I just felt disappointed at my choices after beating the game.
To the other guy saying that Ragos is bad, thats your opinion, but if you having nothing to contribute to the thread then please dont.
Ill just try and farm a boss that has a better staff that I can use I guess.

Yes, more defense is for newbies.
20/20 wands and foci make terrible green items, because they are easy crafts in every chapter. There really isn't too much room for creativity on wands/foci, because there aren't all that many mods to begin with, and so many common combinations are put on crafter/collector items.
If what you really want is cast and recharge mods, there's not a staff in existance that can beat the crafted 20/20s. Not a set of greens or rares, either.
Peace,
-CxE

Most definitely. That's what I look for in caster weapons, and have been very disappointed with NF weapons in general. I'm glad I have the option of picking up the items I want in Tyria or even in Cantha. Options ftw.

I sold my 4 books that I got. You really don't get any good items with it and if you try to get an items and sell it for higher price then the books, it takes a few hours to sell. That's why the price are dropping so fast. I saw a Hand of the Forgotten for 20k a few days ago.

but when i beat it i got sword of the forgotten and sold it for 40k and got the rest of my necros 15k sunspear well worth it

I much prefer the nightfall endgame greens to factions. The staves are very nice, although why isn't there an energy storage req one??
I still don't like that all caster items get the same skins.

I got the +5e spear for my Paragon and the Ungues of the Forgotten for my Assassin (this was before I deleted all of my PvE characters except my Necro) because, IMO, those were the only attractive and useful ones. (Honestly, why must EVERY end game warrior green be sundering...)

Couldn't you have said that to yourself before making this thread?
Its your opinion that the end game greens weren't up to your expectations but there's plenty of other people who are fine with them.

The Forgotten Sword looks immensely different, and better, that Shadow Blades. The only problem is it's sundering.

Agreed. I was very disappointed in the Ranger offerings. Ivory Bows and re-skinned Rotwing bows, with stats that don't much suit the bow type.

Agreed. I was going to say this if no one else was. Honestly, how does the Forgotten Sword look anywhere near like a Shadow Blade? I mean WTF? I, personally love the Forgotten Sword, as far as looks go, I would never use it. I feel the same about Victo's Axe, actually.
There are plenty of choices in the endgame, and if none strike your fancy, then do what you did, sell the book. Or you can get the most wanted green (like Hand of the Forgotten), like I did, sell it for a lot more than the book is worth, and buy a green of your choice from someone.
I do hope that in the next campaign, we can either make our own green, or have a contest for the top guilds to design greens (stat-wise). This way we can hopefully get something aside from sundering swords and +5 energy ele wands.

This game isn't about having the best uber equipement. Greens are there to be useful. No weapon is meant to be "better."
